Foreword

The idea of publishing the professional journal of the Italian political
science community was in the air when I got in as the chair of SISP. I
jumped on the idea and, with the agreement of the Executive Board, decided to launch the project that here the Editor, appointed after issuing a call to all the members, delivers to an audience wider than the SISP membership. IPS mission is to make efforts, achievements and problems of the members of the Italian Political Science Association better known to one another, and to make the wider academic community aware of our debates, projects and aspirations as well. The Italian academic system is in a time of critical growth. Relations between scientists continue to grow across countries also in the political science sector. Let us be proactive and ambitious. Your attention and collaboration to IPS can make it the sparkling instrument of the community of the Italian political scientists for the time ahead!
