Notes for contributors

Italian Political Science (IPS) welcomes original proposals for articles about the discipline of political science and the Italian political science community. The main focus of articles should be about:

  • the current status of the teaching of political science in Italian universities in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and its perspectives;
  • research matters, such as debates in the discipline, new and ongoing research projects, funding opportunities, data sources;
  • the position and prospects of the discipline within the Italian and European higher education system and its relations with other disciplines;
  • the institutions, both inside and outside university, that carry out political science research and training, such as departments, research centres, think tanks;
  • the relations between the discipline and policy makers and civil society at large.

Articles should not normally exceed 5000 words in length. Footnotes and bibliographical references should be kept to a minimum.
Contributors are kindly asked to avoid Microsoft proprietary formats (.doc, .docx) in favor of Open Document (ODT), Rich Text Format (.rtf) or Portable Document Format (.pdf). Please send tables and figures as a separate file preferably in JPEG (.jpg) or PNG (.png) formats. Be sure to indicate clearly the position where the table/figure should appear on the main body of text.
